Bedminster, New Jersey - September 28, 2007
Known
as the Jacobus Vanderveer House, one of only three registered
national historical landmarks in the Bedminster/Pluckemin hamlets,
the Friends of the Jacobus Vanderveer House are planning to
grow their organization and use the web to help the effort.

"In
the past, the group relied on the volunteers to create and
manage a web presence that provided basic directions, hours of
operation, very brief histories, and a list of current events",
according to Ellen Vreeland, the former President of the Friends
of Jacobus Vanderveer House. " "We did the best we could under
the circumstances."
Last fall, at the annual Bedminster Fall Fest (Bedminsters Local Appreciation
Day), T3 Consortium's Brooks Betz met Ellen Vreeland and Dutzie
Robbie, another volunteer for the Friends of JVH, and offered
to take over the management and web consultation for expanding
their efforts. "I had just worked with another local historical
organization and felt it'd be the right thing to do to assist
them with their efforts" Betz said. "They work so hard to promote
the local history, and I really applaud their efforts, so I'm
excited to help if I can."
At the groups recent annual Board of
Directors meeting, initial discussions were had with the incoming
President, Mr. Jim Cline. "Mr. Cline introduced a number of target
objectives for the Board of Directors and I really look forward
to working with them to promote their efforts and involvement
with the local community," Betz said. "It's a great group of
people and the enthusiasm is inspiring, so I really look forward
to working with everyone on the Board." Brooks Betz later met with Liz Fuerst, Communications Lead and Trustee of The Friends to complete the strategy and content.
There will be multiple
phases of web development that will begin with a basic web facelift,
adding basic information, and beginning to create a deeper footprint
on the web for the organization. Look here for additional information
as well as on their current website www.jvanderveerhouse.com.
